DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) helps protect your domain from email spoofing and phishing by instructing receiving servers how to handle unauthorized emails.
Step 1: Access your domain’s DNS settings
Log in to your domain registrar or hosting provider where your DNS is managed. If your domain uses Akashi Hosting’s nameservers, you may need to add or adjust DMARC records manually.
Step 2: Add the DMARC TXT record
- Name/Host:
_dmarc.yourdomain.com - Type:
TXT - Value:
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:postmaster@yourdomain.com - TTL: Leave as default or set to 3600
Step 3: Customize your DMARC policy (optional)
You can adjust the p= value to:
none— monitor only, no actionquarantine— treat suspicious emails as spamreject— reject unauthorized emails outright
Step 4: Save and wait for propagation
DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to propagate. Use tools like MXToolbox DMARC Checker to verify your record.
Automatic DMARC Setup with Akashi Hosting Nameservers
If your domain uses Akashi Hosting’s nameservers, DMARC records are usually configured automatically for you. Manual setup is only necessary if you manage your DNS externally or require custom DMARC settings.
