How do I change the MOTD (Message of the Day)?


The MOTD is the message players see under your server name in the multiplayer list. You can customize it to show your server’s status or welcome text.

Steps to change the MOTD:

  1. Log in to your Minecraft server panel
  2. Access the server.properties file in the file manager
  3. Find the line starting with motd=
  4. Change the text after motd= to your desired message
  5. Save the file
  6. Restart your server for changes to take effect

Notes:

  • The MOTD supports color codes using Minecraft’s formatting (e.g., § codes)
  • Keep the message concise for best appearance
