Garry’s Mod server won’t start after install or reinstall?


There is a known SteamCMD issue where the file libstdc++.so.6 included during installation can prevent the server from starting.

Cause:

The GamePanel's SteamCMD download sometimes installs a problematic libstdc++.so.6 file that conflicts with the server runtime.

Fix:

  1. Log in to your server via GamePanel
  2. Go to File Manager
  3. Navigate to your Garry’s Mod server directory: Bin
  4. Delete the file libstdc++.so.6 using the File Manager
  5. Restart your server through GamePanel
