Why can’t I connect to my email via IMAP or POP3?

If you’re unable to connect your email client using IMAP or POP3, check the following common issues.

Common causes:

  • Incorrect incoming mail server settings (hostname, port, encryption)
  • Firewall or antivirus blocking email ports
  • Network restrictions or ISP blocking standard email ports
  • Account password incorrect or expired
  • Email client misconfigured for SSL/TLS

How to fix:

  • Use the correct server: mail.yourdomain.com
  • IMAP ports: 993 (SSL), 143 (non-SSL)
  • POP3 ports: 995 (SSL), 110 (non-SSL)
  • Verify your username (full email address) and password
  • Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus to test connection
  • Try connecting on a different network to rule out ISP blocks
  • Check your email client’s encryption settings and update if needed

If you continue to have connection issues, open a support ticket and we’ll assist you.
